Frequently Asked Questions
Why reserve a lamb share today?
It is peak flavor season. Our sheep have spent all summer grazing regeneratively — soaking up nutrients that translate directly into rich, tender, nutrient-dense meat. This is lamb that truly tastes like the land it grazed.
Why purchase a lamb share? I've never done that before!
Now's the time! It is economical, keeps your dollars hyper local (see you later consolidated corporate agriculture), and preserves the epic flavor of the growing season in your freezer.
Is my freezer big enough?
Read the answer below for "half share" and "whole share" details. Short answer: YES, your freezer is big enough.
Should I get a half or whole lamb?
Half share is a set cut selection and cannot be customized. You'll get approximately 18-20 lbs of packaged meat that fits in about 1.25 cu feet of freezer space (think one drawer of your standard home freezer). Perfect for sampling different cuts and sharing meals with your family and friends!
Whole lamb is fully customizable. We'll reach out to you to go over your favorite cuts! You pay a deposit now to reserve your share for pick up on a specific date. You'll get approximately 30-35 lbs of packaged meat that fits in about 2.5 cu feet of freezer space (think two drawers of your standard home freezer or some chest freezer space). Perfect for the locavore preparing for a delicious few months!
Why fixed dates?
We pick up the meat frozen from our USDA processor on a set date and do not have space to store your meat. Your meat will be frozen solid and perfect for transport that day. Can't make it to get your last minute? Ask a friend to pick it up for you! Or get in touch with us for special arrangements.
