Solar Grazing
At the intersection of clean energy and regenerative agriculture lies a win-win solution: solar grazing. Solar grazing reduces reliance on mowing, increases tax benefits for solar producers, boosts soil, and provides shade to sheep.

Why Sheep?
Sheep are well-suited for grazing under solar arrays. They utilize the shade of the panels while clearing vegetation that can get in the way of panel technology.

Why Longroots?
Our team is experienced in solar grazing. We use holistic planned grazing to move sheep through paddocks within the solar array, which helps improve soil health and sequester carbon as well as keep the sheep more contained for solar technicians or land owners to do what they need. As a member of the American Solar Grazing Association, Longroots Ranch stays in the know about best practices.
